The October Box
Black Sage/Black Tourmaline are this month's themes, and the only question we have is whether to smoke, steep, or spritz it? The answer is all of the above. Salvia mellifera, also known as black sage, grows abundantly throughout California and Baja's dry chaparral landscapes and has numerous traditional uses and medicinal properties. As Halloween and Dia de los Muertos approach us, Black sage can help us get into the spirit of grounding, reflection, and ceremony. This October, members unboxed four carefully selected bath and wellness goods, and each item evoked a mood all on its own.

Black Tourmaline Crystal Soap made by Local Bath Box. Ojai, CA
Featuring local dried California Black sage, and notes of sage and cinnamon essential oils, look no further for the perfect fall scent! The soap is made to mimic the look and feel of actual crystals such as amethyst, citrine, fluorite, and quartz. Each crystal soap is blended with pure essential oils, locally grown botanicals, and natural micas, then hand-poured layer by layer into our unique soap molds, making each one truly unique. The crystal points can be used as a gentle massage tool during a hot shower for a gratifying aromatherapy experience, or can be used as a luxurious hand soap displayed in the guest bath!
Ingredients: Pure Organic Sage Essential Oil, Cinnamon Essential Oil, White Pearly Mica, Activated Charcoal, Dried California Black Sage, Saponified Vegetable oils of Coconut, Sustainable Palm, Safflower, Kosher Glycerin (of vegetable origin), Purified Water, Sorbitol (from berries, moisturizer), Sorbitan Oleate (emulsifier), Oat Protein (conditioner).
Cinnamon Sage Soap Round made by Local Bath Box. Ojai, CA
This bar soap can be used on both hands and body. Its a simple and pure glycerin based soap that lathers nicely, is soft on the skin, and will leave you feeling fantastic.

Black Sage Hydrosol made by GARA Skincare. Ojai, CA
GARA's Black Sage hydrosol is the essential seasonal spritzer. The black sage is sourced locally, and distilled in a copper alembic. With notes of pine and wood, it is extremely calming and can be used to help relieve pain and promote a sense of cleansing and renewal.
Ingredients: Undiluted Black Sage Hydrosol, less that 0.5% nano silver.
Black Tourmaline Candle made by Shop Dusk. Ventura, CA
Scented with notes of sage and clove, this pure soy-wax candle is adorned wit a black tourmaline crystal. Candle vessels can be refilled at Shop Dusk located in downtown Ventura.

BLACK TOURMALINE
Our crystal muse of the month is none other than black tourmaline. Said to help with clearing out negative energies, protection, and grounding, this stone is tied to the root chakra. The black tourmaline crystal-inspired soap is made with dried native black sage flowers, and is scented with pure essential oils of sage and cinnamon.
Black sage can help ease inflammation and chronic pain. A black sage sun tea can be prepared and used as a foot soak to help promote relaxation and ease pain.
